Modified food texture requirements, Dementia & dysphasia

Many people have modified eating requirements and this can be due to a range of reasons that can be slow onset (cognitive or physical progressive onset impairment), instantaneous (accidents & illness) or ongoing (altered care needs). Often the preparation of these foods can be daunting or overwhelming and often support is hard to find, and the consequences of the wrong foods being given can have deadly implications due to the nature of dysphasia and choking hazards.

Working with the NDIS and IDDSI (International Dysphasia Diet Standardisation Initiative) and your Speech Pathologist hands-on individualised education sessions can be devised to help you feel empowered & inspired to create safe, nutritious and delicious foods, understand the IDDSI guidelines and understand complexities and other considerations such as posture and body positioning, dietary restrictions and eating aids.
